Though I am not an adult, I can still differentiate between the two important stages of our life; childhood and adulthood. Observing my parents and myself and a sister even younger than me, I can easily tell how different the personality traits are. The exhilarating and fun-filled nature we exercise in the early stages of our life is somewhat lost in the journey of maturity and being an adult. Through this poem I would like my audience of all ages to revive their childhood amusement and relive the child within. Whereas for the children and teenagers like me I would like you to sense and find a child deep within your parents and grandparents. I believe that this poem would find a resonance in each home.
Playing in daisies
Dancing in frenzy,
Roaming in gardens,
Splashing in bathtubs,
Fun in the Childhood,
I miss it in my Adulthood.
Want to get back to the days
of sun and the rain,
To the time where I never thought
of worries and the pain.
Plucking fruit from trees,
Sneaking in kitchen
to find tasty treats,
Playing hide and seek,
Calling each other a freak,
Not planning to get ahead,
Or complaining for lagging behind,
Enjoying nature's bountiful insights,
Fun in the Childhood,
I miss it in my Adulthood.
Searching castles in clouds,
Listening music out loud,
Reading stories of
giants and princess with a crown,
Pleading to go in circus,
and watch a red-nosed clown,
Throwing tantrums,
in front of a crowd,
Never thinking of the world around,
Staying carefree,
Running away from honey bees,
Catching butterflies,
Watching sunrise,
Wishing for a birthday surprise,
Jumping on bed,
Eating our parents head,
Thinking out loud,
No worries around,
As a child all the fun I had seen,
Seem like rainbow
with colours red, blue and green,
I miss it in my Adulthood,
All the fun I had in my Childhood.
